Antique Silver Salt Spoons & Shovels

Silver salt spoons have small ladle-shaped bowls to lift salt from open salt cellars. They first appeared at the end of the 17th century as a general condiment spoon with flat bowl, but were produced as ladles in large numbers from the mid-18th century.

We always have a very large stock of silver salt spoons that includes English, Scottish and Irish examples, including many from the provinces, and show just a selection online.
