Salt Spoon - King's Husk pattern; gilt bowl - London 1821 by Paul Storr - 11.4cm long; 23g - KT/6001
This is an excellent, affordable piece of antique silver from the greatest English silversmith of the 19th century - Paul Storr. The London hallmarks punched to this salt spoon include a first class example of the iconic PS maker's mark.
The spoon is in the popular King's Husk pattern and benefits from having crisp decoration and an engraved double crest to the reverse side depicting a leaping hound with "Gardez" above to one and a stork to the other. The bowl retains its original gilding that has protected the silver from the corrosive effects of salt and the overall condition remains excellent.
