These are a really attractive pair of good-sized Victorian silver salt spoons with lion's mask terminals and made by one of the most important spoonmakers of the Victorian period, Francis Higgins.
The spoon have beautifully gilt bowls to protect the silver from the corrosive effects of salt and the decoration remains crisp throughout. An excellent quality paif of salt ladles in fine condition.
