Antique silver grape scissors or grape shears are used to delicately trim grapes from bunches (not for cutting the thicker stalks) and are a refined accompaniment to a cheese and fruit after-dinner course. First made in the last few years of the 18th century, grape shears always take a scissor-form, but vary in style from the plain to very ornate.
