Letter Opener - Galleon terminal - London 1949 by Leslie Durbin - 21.8cm long; 48g - GW/7999

This is an excellent quality silver letter opener or paper knife made by one of the best post-war silversmiths, Leslie Durbin.

This 8.5" long letter opener features a sailing ship on a swirling sea to the terminal with both sides of the galleon visible: to one side the billowing sails and to the other the inner sails. This motif was a favourite of Durbin's master, the great Omar Ramsden and is a sign of true quality.

Dating from just a few years after World War II, this rare piece remains in fine condition.
