Cased silver paper knives or letter openers from the Victorian period are relatively scarce and this fine example has the bonus of a purple agate handle.
Made by the Birmingham silversmith George Unite, this lovely piece has a beautifully engraved silver blade and bears clear hallmarks. It benefits from being in excellent condition without issue, no doubt due to the presence of its original case.
