This is an excellent pair of cast silver candlesticks by the top, specialist silver candlestick maker of the mid-18th century, William Cafe.
These candlesticks take a square-based form with shell corners and knopped stem topped by removable sconce nozzles (appropriately part-marked). They have a good, hefty weight and the engraved crests to their bases add that extra dimension of quality to them.
They are in excellent original condition with a clear set of London hallmarks spread around the inside bases of both.
