Serving Tongs - Novelty 'Rowing Oars' - London 1868 by Richard Charles Davis - 19.5cm long; 46g - HN/6049

These are a great pair of novelty silver serving tongs in the form of rowing oars.

Made during the Victorian period, these unusual tongs have a spring pivot to the middle for opening and closing the blades. The blades are realistically modelled as oars and bear a full set of London hallmarks with the makers marks RCD for Richard Charles Davis. They are in excellent condition.
