Crested Silver Caddy Spoon, 1780
Sold
Caddy Spoon - Short Beaded Handle - London circa 1780 by John Lambe - 6.2cm long - KR/9268
This is a good-looking Georgian silver caddy spoon dating from the end of the first decade of caddy spoon production.
The spoon has a short, square bead decorated handle engraved with a charming crest of a hound and a fluted, circular bowl. The spoon bears the two appropriate marks for pre-1781 when date letters were added - a lion passant and I.L maker's mark for the specialist spoonmaker John Lambe. This pleasing spoon is in excellent condition with crisp beading.
