Sorry, this item is out of stock.

This is one of the earliest silver caddy spoons that you are likely to find!

Made by the royal goldsmith Thomas Heming, this silver caddy spoon is in the earliest form of caddy spoon development - the deep bowled ladle - and is likely to date from circa 1770 which is the earliest date of caddy spoon production. This Georgian spoon has a plain Old English pattern handle with no engravings and has a lovely elegant feel. It bears a single "TH" in script makers mark and would have once caused quite a stir as a never before seen item at the afternoon tea ceremony! It remains in fine antique condition.

This spoon is studied as item A2 and illustrated in our article on the earliest of silver caddy spoons that can be found at this link - Early Silver Caddy Spoons.
