Table Spoon - Hanoverian Pattern - Canongate circa 1760 by Peter Cuthbertson - 20.8cm long; 60g - HW/7744

Canongate silver is rare and this mid-18th century table spoon is a pleasing example with good marks for Peter Cuthbertson.

This Scottish, Hanoverian pattern spoon is in fine condition with an original engraved "W" to the reverse stem. The marks include the sought after stag's head erased mark and two "PC" in a shaped punch maker's marks.

Canongate was a distinct royal burgh on the fringes of Edinburgh until the mid-19th century.
