Barber & Whitwell Silver Basting Spoon, York 1814
£295.00
Basting Spoon - Fiddle Pattern - York 1814 by James Barber & William Whitwell - 31cm long; 144g - VN/4985
A great quality Georgian silver basting spoon with York hallmarks for the partnership of James Barber and William Whitwell.
This fiddle pattern basting spoon (also known as a stuffing, gravy or long-handled serving spoon) dates from 1814 and is an early example of English provincial fiddle pattern. The spoon is in fabulous condition with the additonal bonuses of retaining its original thick bowl tip and there being no personalised engravings. A terrific spoon!
