Table Spoons (12) - Hanoverian Pattern - London 1765 by William Tant - 20.8cm long; 800g - RD/3412

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

These are a good, hefty set of a straight dozen Georgian silver table spoons in the Hanoverian Pattern.

Made by the specialist spoonmaker William Tant, this set of twelve spoons has a lovely feel in the hand and each spoon is engraved to the reverse terminal with an original betrothal triangle where the initials denote the surname (upper) and two first names (lower) of the happy couple. A further bonus is the excellent, crisp set of hallmarks for London 1765 including the distinctive "WT" in script maker's mark (Grimwade 3905). Please note: one spoon is marked for 1766 by Philip Roker and this spoon together with one of the Tant spoons has bolder engraving (lower right in main photo).

The condition of these early George III spoons is excellent throughout with a nice antique patina. A fine set in great condition and at a competitive price.
