This is an unusual, novelty, late Victorian silver-gilt fruit box.
It is nicely formed as a stylised fruit and has a hinged cover with thumblift to the front. It is hallmarked with Sheffield import marks for Samuel Landeck and is in fine condition with just a little bit of wear to the lemon-coloured gilding.
