Marrow Scoop - Shaped Fiddle Pattern - Birmingham 1869 by Hirons Plante & Co. - 24.8cm long; 25g - LM/7577

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

This Victorian silver marrow scoop is unusual in both its shape and being hallmarked in Birmingham - we don't recall seeing another antique example having been made there!

It has fiddle pattern shoulders and a shaped mid-section which is engraved with a lion passant crest and the Latin motto "FARE FAC" (translates to "Speak, Do") which is often used as a call to action. This double ended marrow scoop was intended for use in eating the juicy centres of marrowfat bones.

Made by Hirons, Plante & Company, this interesting silver marrow scoop remains in fine condition.
