Serving Spoons (2) - Cactus (Kaktus) Pattern - London 1949 & London 1991 by Georg Jensen Ltd. - 20.2cm long; 158g combined weight - TD/1748g

These are an excellent good-sized pair of silver serving spoons made by Georg Jensen in the stylish Art Deco Cactus pattern.

Housed in a Georg Jensen cardboard box, these serving spoons have large bowls for serving and a very elegant feel and look. They bear different period Georg Jensen workshop marks in combination with London import hallmarks for 1949 and 1991.

This pattern was designed by Gundolph Albertus in 1930 and is also known by its Danish name of Kaktus. It has a stylized cactus motif low down on the stem and is so designed to give a streamlined effect so typical of the Art Deco period. Its simple, elegant beauty has inevitably lead to it becoming the most popular and highly sought after of all Jensen flatware patterns.
