Table Spoon - Hanoverian Rattail Pattern - London 1719 by Henry Clarke - 19.9cm long; 56g - YR/7461

This is a fine example of a George I period silver table spoon made by the specialist spoonmaker Henry Clarke.

The spoon has a bold rattail to the reverse of the bowl, a typical ridge down the front stem and a handsome, engraved stag to the reverse terminal. It is made from the purer Britannia standard and has a great set of London hallmarks that include the "CL" mark of the maker. A great spoon with good antique patina.

Henry Clarke was one of the apprentices of William Scarlett and went on to become a premier spoonmaker in his own right.
