Spoon - Dog-nose - London 1703 by Isaac Davenport - 20.5cm long; 57g - TF/7120b
This is a top quality silver dog nose spoon made by the specialist spoon maker, Isaac Davenport. It has a nice sturdy feel to it and bears a clear set of Britannia Standard hallmarks. The condition is excellent with an unworn bowl and just a small amount of scratching to the front terminal. The reverse terminal is engraved with an original betrothal triangle ("W" over "RI" where "W" is the initial letter of the newly-weds' surname) and dated to 1703. A very pleasing spoon.
