William Street Marrow Spoon, 1719

Sold
Marrow Spoon - Rattail - London 1719 by William Street - 23.7cm long; 57g - GN/8857
This is a fantastic example of a George I period silver marrow spoon with a great set of Britannia Standard hallmarks.
This table spoon has a narrow scoop instead of the standard Hanoverian pattern handle to tease out the tasty marrowfat from bones. The bowl has a rattail to the reverse side and original ownership initials "DG". The Britannia standard hallmarks include the scarcely encountered ST makers mark of William Street. The condition is excellent throughout.
