6 Dog-nose Dessert Spoons, 1707

The majority of period dog nose spoons were produced between 1700 and 1715 and nearly all of those found are table spoon size. So this set of dessert spoons are a great find and would be ideal to help fill out a Queen Anne period flatware service. At 6.25" long, they are an attractive dainty size and are in overall good order. They bear late 18th century engraved initials to the front terminals and the bowls retain their shape and size (there are some very minor dings to one or two).

The hallmarks are partially worn, but the date letter for 1707 can be seen clearly on 2 spoons and less clearer on 2 others. The Britannia standard mark and the lion's head erased are visible on several too and the distinctive "SA" maker's mark can be read on 4 spoons.
