Basting Spoon - Hanoverian Rattail pattern - London 1713 by Lawrence Jones - 31cm long; 124g - FG/2339
This is a superb, large example of a Queen Anne period silver 12" long basting spoon.
This spoon is in Hanoverian pattern with a striking rattail to the reverse of the generously sized bowl. It has an attractive eagle's head crest to the reverse of terminal. The hallmarks are for the higher purity Britannia standard and include the "Jo" maker's mark for the specialist spoonmaker Lawrence Jones. All-in-all a very fine spoon with a good weight in excellent condition.
