Silver Pepper Caster by Ramsden & Carr

Although definitely testing as silver and made by the important partnership of Omar Ramsden & Alwyn Carr, this attractive Edwardian pepper caster lacks any hallmarks. The caster is in a popular arts & crafts style for the makers and we are currently offering a very similar salt pourer by them (see photo links below), plus the underside is stamped "Ramsden et Carr".

The caster offers a heart warming message with a chased proverb around the lower section of the caster: "Young Laughter Makes the Old World Gay" suggesting how the vitality of young people makes the world feel a more joyful and vibrant place. The upper section is chased with a band of roses on thorny branches.

This caster remains in excellent condition.
