Sorry, this item is out of stock.

Together with the "eagle's wing" and "hand", the jockey cap caddy spoon is the third of the trilogy of the must-have antique silver caddy spoons and this is a fine example of the standard model produced by Joseph Taylor at the end of the 18th century. The earliest were produced in 1797 and so this spoon from the following year is an early piece.

Jockey cap silver caddy spoons take many different forms as can be seen in the final photo which shows a small selection currently being offered.

This George III period jockey cap tea caddy spoon has clever engraving representing the seam work to the cap, a button to the top and a tied ribbon to the back. It has an attractively engraved peak with the shield-shaped cartouche remaining free from engraving. A major bonus is the clear, full set of hallmarks (often they are only part marked).  A fine example in excellent condition.
