Grape Scissors - Gilt; Vine & Grapes - London 1845 by Francis Higgins - 18.8cm long; 148g - DV/5969

These are an outstanding pair of early Victorian silver-gilt grape scissors made by Francis Higgins.

These high quality grape shears have cast handles that are beautifully formed as vine tendrils, leaves and bunches of grapes. The all-over gilding adds an extra touch of exhuberance to these after-dinner implements. They remain in excellent condition with the London hallmarks spread between the insides of both blades.
