Bowl - Cherub Handles - London 1980 by Leslie Durbin - 17cm wide x 7.6cm high; 286g - GV/6964
This is a superb quality silver bowl made by Leslie Durbin with influences from his old master, Omar Ramsden.
This deep,hand-made bowl is hefty in the hand and the two branch tendril handles have a superbly modelled cherub swinging on each of them - these are straight out of the Omar Ramsden design book. Leslie Gordon Durbin was apprenticed to Britain's greatest 20th century silversmith during the 1930's and went to become one of the most important post-war silversmiths.
The bowl has a full set of London hallmarks and the LGD maker's mark is always a sign of high quality.
