Gravy Boat - London 1970 by Leslie Durbin - 18cm long; 10.5cm high; 240ml volume; 325g - MU/6356

This is a fabulous quality silver gravy or large sauce boat made by one of the most pre-eminent silversmiths of the late 20th century - Leslie Gordon Durbin (LGD). Durbin was apprenticed to and worked for Omar Ramsden and the quality of his work is equal to those of his master.

The gravy boat has a stylish form with flat fluted foot and a generous capacity of 240ml (just shy of half pint). The clearly stamped London hallmarks are early examples of the display marks that became popular during the seventies. This piece remains in superb condition and is lovely to use.
