Basting Spoon - Old English Pattern - London 1786 by Hester Bateman - 29cm long; 100g - CH/6018

A stylish silver basting spoon made by the Queen of English Silversmiths, Hester Bateman.

This George III period, 12" long silver serving spoon is in the Old English pattern with a superb engraved crest of a goat's head to the front terminal. The reverse side is clearly struck with London hallmarks for 1786 and the iconic "HB" in script makers mark for the most famous of the lady silversmiths. This lovely spoon remains in fine, antique condition.
