Table Spoon - Fiddle Pattern - Forres circa 1825 by James & Patrick Riach - 222mm; 71g - Ref. No.: AP/1858a

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

An extremely rare example of a Forres table spoon with fantastic marks for the maker James & Patrick Riach - "IPR", "Tower", "IPR". This table spoon is as good an example as you are likely to find with these highly cherished marks. It has a good hefty weight and thick bowl tip, original crescent crest to the front terminal and a fine patina. A wonderful spoon!

We very fortunate indeed to have three matching examples to this spoon currently in stock. We are therefore able to offer this spoon at a lower price than could have been bought at auction for the past few years. We have not found a table spoon by these makers to have sold for less than £1500, and even a salt spoon made £950 + buyer's premium (total £1175) at Toovey's saleroom in January 2012.

Forres is a town and former royal burgh situated in the north of Scotland on the Moray coast, approximately 25 miles east of Inverness.
