Marrow Scoop - Double-ended - Edinburgh 1808 by George McHattie - 23.5cm long; 44g - YV/4554

Made by John McHattie in the first decade of the 19th century, this lovely Scottish silver marrow scoop has a great feel in the hand.

There are two differently sized scoops for teasing out the tasty morsels from marrow bones that are joined by a flat central shank. Scottish marrow scoops are quite scarce and this George III period example has a clear set of Edinburgh hallmarks and is in fine condition.
