Marrow Spoon - Double-ended - London 1747 by James Wilks - 22.3cm long; 45g - HZ/8341

Combining both a table spoon sized bowl and a narrow scoop, this versatile George II period silver marrow spoon could be used for eking out the tasty morsels from marrowfat bones and eat them from the spoon bowl.

This marrow spoon was made by the top silversmith James Wilks and bears an excellent set of London hallmarks for 1747. The spoon remains in fine condition with an unworn bowl and good patina.
