This is a lovely silver quaich with Scottish themed lug handles.

Made by the highly regarded maker Robert Edgar Stone, this quaich is beautifully presented as a shallow bowl with Scottish thistle motif engraved handles. The quaich dates from a time when little silver was produced in the immediate post-war years and includes the facsimile signature of RE Stone. It is in superb polished condition.

A quaich is an ancient Scottish drinking vessel with two handles traditionally used to drink whisky. They became a popular alternative to the child's mug given at Christenings.
