This antique silver sauce label dates from circa 1800 and is engraved with the name "KYAN" to the front.
Kyan is a corruption of cayenne for the spicy pepper; the sauce being a popular table addition in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Made by Phipps & Robinson who were the top smallworker specialists of the period, this George III sauce bottle ticket is in fine original condition.
