Omar Ramsden Match Box Holder, 1927
£275.00
Match Box Holder - Hammered finish - London 1927 by Omar Ramsden - 6cm x 4cm x 2.3cm; 41g - AB/6358
This is a nice piece of collectable Omar Ramsden silver at a very affordable price. Match box holders were used on the table for after-dinner cigars or as decorative objects around fireplaces. They have an opening at one for sliding in the box of matches and at the other to push open the box so that matches can be removed. Both sides are open to allow matches to be struck on the sandpaper.
This hand-made silver matchholder has an all over hammered finish in the arts & crafts tradition for which Ramsden is famous and is in fine condition.
