Omar Ramsden Tudor Rose Spoon
Sold
Spoon - Tudor Rose pattern - London 1925 by Omar Ramsden - 16cm long; 43g - EQ/9770
Omar Ramsden produced a range of spoons measuring just over 6" long that were ideal gifts as jam spoons or children's Christening spoons. They each featured a different design to the terminal and this example shows a Tudor Rose among thorny tendrils.
The stem and reverse of the bowl retain the spot hammer marks that is a signature of the Arts & Crafts movement. The spoon has a good feeling of quality in the hand and remains in first class condition with clear hallmarks for the most important British silversmith of the 20th century.
