Lily pattern 6 Place Settings Silver Canteen

The Service

We are pleased to be offering a lovely 6-place settings canteen in the highly desirable Lily Pattern. The service provides for five pieces per 6 place settings, plus two serving spoons.

All the pieces were made in Sheffield with the spoons and forks made by Atkin Brothers in 1912 and the knives by E Viner in 1933. The pieces benefit from having no engravings and are in excellent polished condition.

Lily Pattern

Lily Pattern was first produced by Elkington & Company in 1850 in readiness for the Great Exhibition at the Crystal Palace. The design is a good example of Victorian naturalism, however it is often commented how the flowing lines are very Art Nouveau in style, although that movement was to follow 50 years later. The beauty of his pattern has ensured its long lasting appeal and it remains one of the most sought after flatware patterns.

Components

This 32-piece service consists of the following:

Total weight of weighable silver  1510 grams (48.6 troy ounces). Additional to this weight are the 12 silver handled knives.

Optional Extras

We have a selection of other Lily Pattern pieces in stock and will be happy to quote for any additional pieces that may be required to suit your needs. For example, we have some round bowled soups spoons and fish eaters (both with engraved initials to the front).

Condition

Excellent polished condition. Some of the table knives have a little pitting to the blades, but in our opinion this is a minor issue.

Presentation

This canteen is offered loose. We can supply anti-tarnish cutlery rolls on request. These navy blue rolls have individual pockets to hold 6 items per roll and are available for £15 each.
