Cocks & Bettridge were an innovative, Birmingham-based firm of silversmiths who introduced some unique design features to caddy spoons and the kidney-shaped bowl was one of them.
On its fiddle-shaped handle, the kidney bowl is engraved with an attractive pattern with a central kidney-shaped cartouche. The handle is prettily engraved too and bears an original ownership monogram in script to the terminal. The spoon is in excellent condition with clear hallmarks.
