Jockey Cap caddy spoons are among the most iconic tea caddy spoon forms and remain a "must-have" for any collection. The earliest were produced in 1797 and so this example from the following year is an early example. It has clever engraving representing the seam work to the cap and attractively engraved button and peak. The shield-shaped cartouche remains free from engraving and a major bonus is the clear, full set of hallmarks (often they are only part marked). A fine example in excellent condition.
