Omar Ramsden Caddy Spoon, 1927
Caddy Spoon - Loop Handle - London 1927 by Omar Ramsden - 8cm long; 40g - BN/4937
This fine quality silver caddy spoon was made by the important silversmith Omar Ramsden during the twenties and has a very hefty weight for its size. Unusually for caddy spoons it stands on a base and intriguingly is engraved "SLIGO" to the underside. The spoon has a typical sinuous form favoured by Ramsden resulting in a loop handle to give good grip. The spoon is in fine condition all around with clear hallmarks.
Please see pages 8/9 of "The Caddy Spoon in the 20th Century" for an identical spoon by Omar Ramsden.
