Caddy Spoon - George V Coronation - Birmingham 1910 by Liberty & Co. - 9.3cm long; 24g - FJ/6453

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

Liberty & Co had successfully produced a range of spoons designed by Archibald Knox for the coronation of King Edward VII in 1901, so it was fitting for the company to design a new range for George V's crowning in 1911 - this spoon being one such example (see pages 121 & 122 of "Artists Spoons & related Table Cutlery" by Simon Moore for a matching spoon). This very beautiful spoon has been enamelled within the conjoined "GR" cipher, surmounted by a crown and dated for 1911. N.B. there is a small flaw to the enamel just above the "9" and this has been accounted for in the price!
