Inverness Silver Table Spoon Camel Mark by Borthwick
£395.00
Table Spoon - Hanoverian Pattern - Inverness circa 1775 by Thomas Borthwick - 20.7cm long; 68g - TF/7754a
This is a rare Scottish provincial silver table spoon made in Inverness and featuring the sought after camel mark.
Made by Thomas Borthwick circa 1775, this Hanoverian pattern spoon bears an original engraved crest to the reverse terminal and later "AV" initials to the front. The marks to the reverse stem are in great condition and are the particular highlight for this piece. They read "INS", camel, "TB".
This good quality table spoon has a nice solid feel in the hand and is in fine condition with an excellent, unworn bowl.
