H G Murphy Silver Sherry Wine Label, 1937

Henry George Murphy was one of the leading lights of the UK Art Deco movement in silver and this is a rare opportunity to own a silver wine label made by him. In addition to the cherished HGM maker's mark, this label has the "falcon tied with a jess" mark of the Murphy workshop.

This good-sized label is titled for Sherry and is further engraved with a hanging vine with bunches of grapes and a sherry glass. The outer border is a cast representation of vine tendrils with further grapes. It has a good weight and is in fine condition.
