Coffee Pot - Straight-sided Taper with Engravied Decoration - London 1734 by John Swift - 20.2cm tall; 625ml volume; 530g - LP/5866

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

An excellent example of an early George II period silver coffee pot with a stylish straight-sided tapering form.

This coffee pot was made by John Swift, one of the premier hollowware makers of the period, and is typical of the fine quality one would expect from this maker. The coffee pot has a band of original engraved decoration around the top of the body and this is repeated on the cover and around the spout. The original pearwood handle is present and in good order.

The side of the coffee pot is engraved with an original armorial within a widow's lozenge and surrounded by a spray of foliage. This fine quality coffee pot is in excellent condition with clear London hallmarks to the underside.
