Double-ended Reversible Marrow Scoop, 1727

Sold
Marrow Scoop - Double-ended; reversible - London 1727 by William Scarlett - 21cm long; 60g - EG/8416
Double-ended marrow scoops tend to have two elongated bowls (one wide and one narrow) facing upward, however this rare George I example is unusual in having the larger scoop facing up and the smaller one facing down. It has a good, solid weight and bears a clear set of hallmarks including the "W" over "S" mark for the specialist spoonmaker William Scarlett.
A great piece in excellent condition.
