Cupid Caddy Spoon with Pierced Bowl, 1859 Charles Fox
Sold
Caddy Spoon - Cupid Motif; Pierced Bowl - London 1859 by George Fox - 12.9cm long; 28g - YD/2254
This is an unusual mid-Victorian silver caddy spoon made by the premier London silversmith Charles Fox.
The handle bears a cupid motif complete with bow and arrow to the front terminal, whilst the bowl is attractively pierced in the tradition of late 18th century caddy spoons. We don't recall encountering this model of caddy spoon before. The spoon is hallmarked to the reverse side of the bowl and is in fine condition.
