Bright-cut Silver Table Spoon, 1781 TPAH
Sold
Table Spoon - Bright-cut engraved - London 1781 by Thomas Pratt & Arthur Humphreys - 21.3cm long; 63g - NL/3446
This is a lovely George III period silver table spoon made by the partnership of Thomas Pratt and Arthur Humphries.
Not only is the spoon attractive to look at, but with a weight of 2 tr.oz. it has a feeling of high quality too. The front terminal is engraved with an original crest featuring a crowned lion and the handle is crisply bright-cut engraved around its border.
The makers are not commonly encountered and their mark is unusual in being a single line of four letters - "TPAH". The spoon is in fabulous condition and is a really lovely piece of late 18th century silver.
