Sugar Tongs - Bright-cut Engraved - Jersey circa 1790 by George Hamon - 14cm long; 29g - CN/6406
This is a rare pair of silver sugar tongs made in the Channel Islands by the Jersey silversmith George Hamon.
The tongs are beautifully decorated with bright-cut engraving and an original script monogram to the outside of the bow. Both arms are clearly stamped with the "GH" crowned mark of George Hamon who was working at the end of the 18th and early 19th century. These Georgian tongs are in excellent, crisp condition.
