Jersey Silver Table Spoon, c1835 by TDG/JLG
£110.00
Table Spoon - Old English Bright-cut - Jersey circa 1835 by Thomas de Gruchy & John le Gallais - 22.5cm long; 62g - TE/8328
This is a lovely looking Jersey-made silver table spoon from the workshop of Thomas de Gruchy and John le Gallais.
It is a good sized table spoon with a nice balanced feeling in the hand and would be well suited as a serving spoon. The decoration to the stem is beautifully engraved and features original EMC initials to the terminal. The condition is superb - just look at the thick bowl tip - and overall it is a very pleasing spoon.
Thomas de Gruchy and John le Gallais were in partnership on Jersey between 1831 and 1846 and used the mark TDG/JLG.
