The Service
We are pleased to be offering an excellent 20th Century silver 6 place settings canteen of Sterling quality silver cutlery in Old English Pattern. The service provides for seven pieces per 6 place settings.
All the spoons and forks were made in Sheffield by Mappin & Webb and benefit from having no personalised engravings to them. Each piece has a good hefty feel in the hand and is of the highest Sheffield quality The knives have imitation bone handles and engraved “Mappin & Webb Trustworthy” to the stainless steel blades.
Mappin & Webb have been one of the most established names in the British luxury goods retail market for over a century. Their name is synonymous with quality and this silver flatware service bears testament to that fact.
Old English Pattern
Old English Pattern was first introduced circa 1770 and has always been a very favoured pattern due to its elegant and simple form. It has been produced continually to the present day with a resurgence of popularity in the early 20th Century.

Presentation
This canteen is supplied within its original wooden Mappin & Webb box. The box is in generally good order, however there are some scratches and scuffs to the top surface.
