This is an excellent quality silver nutmeg grater made by the top Birmingham silversmith Matthew Linwood.
It has a lovely coopered barrel form that unscrews in the centre to reveal the steel rasp. The grated spice can be retrieved by flicking out the rasp so that the inside of the base can be accessed. The Birmingham hallmarks are spread beween the inside base and inside cover and the overall condition is excellent.
