Sorry, this item is out of stock.

This is a rare example of a silver strainer or pickle spoon made by Georg Jensen in Acanthus pattern.

Ideal for olives and pickles, the bowl of this spoon is beautifully pierced to allow liquid to strain away. The handle is formed in the popular Acanthus or Dronning pattern and the reverse side is stamped with the Georg Jensen workshop, STERLING and DENMARK stamps for the post-1945 period. The spoon is in excellent condition.

Acanthus pattern is also known by its Danish name of Dronning and shares many characteristics with Acorn pattern, the two being designed by Johan Rohde with Acanthus introduced in 1917. It has a classical acanthus motif surmounting the fluted column-like stem. It has a lovely, cheerful feel that has inevitably lead to it become one of the most popular and highly sought after of all Jensen flatware patterns.
